North Assam Polythene-Free Village

Gram Nigamghola in Majhgaon, Bongaigaon district has been running polythene-free and tree planting campaigns for 2-3 years. All villagers participate in road cleaning, with bamboo dustbins placed along roads and at village borders. The villagers also celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June at Bongaigaon Science College.
